Reverse Mobile Review

August 24, 2010

For anyone who has gotten a prank call or seen a mysterious text message on their spouse’s cell phone, not knowing who’s on the other end of that phone can be disconcerting to say the least. It’s difficult to know in this day and age who’s a threat and who isn’t, so how can you be sure you and your family are safe? Finding out who the owner of that number is has never been easier and you can conduct simple online investigations right online if you use the correct sites. That being said, a website that goes by the name of Reverse Mobile promises to give “comprehensive” searches—but does it really get accurate and actionable results? To find out the truth about this service read on for a thorough review of the site.

Firstly, Reverse Mobile is a reverse lookup service that promises to be able to find the name and address of any phone number you search for. The way this is works is by comparing the number you submit to the millions that are on file in their privately held databases—in fact all paid search services operate in a similar way. If the site finds a match for your number then it will give you a preview of the available information in the form of a Google map showing where the owner's number originates from. You also receive details on the line type of phone (mobile, landline, etc.) and what carrier they’re on (Nextel, AT&T, Verizon, etc.) This alone is extremely valuable information that many people could find useful by itself. Of course there is the option of moving forward to get even more information like name and address.

In our review of Reverse Mobile we were prompted with a screen that showed us the preview and an option to “View Your Report” where we could see the name and address of the owner. This information of course comes with a small fee though. The reason this service charges a fee is to help maintain and pay for the rights to these huge databases they search. Fortunately this service is one of the cheaper available online with two payment options. One option is $14.95 and the other is $39.95, the latter of which is for a full year of unlimited searches.

Overall we were satisfied with our review of Reverse Mobile and found that it was an extremely intuitive and easy to use website that was affordable and accurate. The service offers a tremendous value for the price and due to their large databases virtually every number can produce information of some sort for the person doing the investigating.
